Renfrew dress hack

I love the Sewaholic Renfrew pattern. I’ve made it a number of times before here, here…and here and wear all of them right through winter. Well not the maternity one so much!

This time I wanted to make a longer version into a jersey dress that can be worn over leggings. It was a very simple pattern alteration – I just made it longer.

I used a pale green cotton jersey fabric that I found at Union Rag. It has a lovely silky feel and is slightly heavier than tshirt fabric. Unfortunately I didn’t have quite enough to make the neck piece in one piece so I had to make it in two pieces with a seam down the front – not ideal but it works.

I’m loving my Renfrew dress with a belt and leggings or loose with jeans. I can see it will be another winter staple. I am hoping to find some fun fabric to make another version.

Pattern: Sewaholic’s Renfrew lengthened into a dress.

Fabric: Green cotton jersey from Union Rag, Cape Town

Do it again: I’ve loved all the Renfrew’s I’ve made so I’m sure I’ll make it again!
